These metal planters are made of a thick grade corrugated metal and are sturdy and attractive. I live in a hot climate so do have to water the plants in these containers daily, though. I think the metal transfers heat into the soil, but I purchased the smaller 2x4 foot size. I have much larger and deeper metal planters that only require weekly water, so the smaller size may be the reason they dry out quickly. I will recommend these. I read refused that complained about the plastic cover that was hard to peel off. I’ll say it wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t all that hard. And the reason for being there is so that the paint didn’t get scratched off the planter during construction. So to me, it was just a minor inconvenience. 1st a warning...pieces are wrapped in plastic...which I noticed when I was almost done assembling...and at this point, it's staying there!  That said, this thing is amazing! While assembling takes a bit of time, it us super easy. This bed is so much sturdier, with thicker walls, than another brand I recently purchased. If onlyni had known. I assembled the 5x2 unit into one of the optional layouts... kind of a hexagonal circle. It will be the center of my garden, but as money allows, I will replace the cheap 4x8 beds with more from this company. Very impressed...in a time when quality goes down and price goes up, this delivers a terrific value for its price. Read more

These were very easy to assemble, no tool required. I received 3 of the black. Looks better than the plain metal ones. The only thing which didn't hinder any pre-purchasing if needed was the packaging. two were shipped in their original packages which one was destroyed but one was in an additional box with the original box intact. So the extra packaging helps with the weight of these. They are heavy. Also what was nice was the plastic on the outside of the panels to help with scratching before assembly. Read more
