Who this is for
This shortlist is for homeowners dressing an entry who want a traditional oriental or Persian-style rug in a red-and-blue colorway, sized for a 5x7 or 6x9 foyer. Choose this if you want classic medallion, Heriz, Tabriz, or Kashan patterns and construction that balances durability and easy upkeep—power-loomed, hand-tufted, or sturdy hand-knotted piles you can vacuum and spot-clean. Every pick emphasizes red and blue as dominant tones and is selected for foyer traffic.
Not for you if you want modern geometric styles, a different dominant color, sizes outside 5x7/6x9, fragile antique silk, or ultra-thin flatweaves unsuited to heavy foot traffic. Those needs call for a different category.
How we picked the best
Our agents evaluated dozens of oriental rugs by cross-referencing community feedback, expert reviews, and product specifications to find the best red and blue options specifically sized for foyer use. Every pick was pressure-tested against five core criteria — starting with color and pattern authenticity, since those are the non-negotiable requirements for this search.
Red & Blue Colorway
The defining reason you're searching — every pick must deliver true red and blue as the dominant tones, not a washed-out or misrepresented colorway. We scrutinized verified buyer photos and color accuracy reports to confirm each rug looks as advertised in a real foyer setting.
Authentic Oriental Pattern
A genuine medallion, floral, Heriz, Tabriz, or Kashan motif is what separates a classic foyer statement piece from a cheap imitation. We evaluated pattern fidelity and traditional design integrity so your entryway looks intentionally curated, not mass-produced.
Foyer-Friendly Sizing
A rug that's too large overwhelms a foyer; one that's too small looks like an afterthought. Every pick here is available in 5x7 or 6x9 — the two sizes that fit a standard entryway without crowding the space or leaving bare floor gaps.
High-Traffic Durability
Your foyer takes more daily foot traffic than almost any other room, so pile density, fiber quality, and construction integrity matter enormously. We assessed each rug's ability to resist matting, crushing, and color fading under constant entry-and-exit use.
Easy Maintenance
Foyer rugs collect dirt, debris, and moisture every single day, so a rug that's difficult to clean becomes a liability fast. We factored in how well each option holds up to regular vacuuming and spot cleaning without requiring professional care.
Value Across Budget Tiers
Strong options exist from $100 all the way past $800, but price alone doesn't predict quality in this category. We mapped each pick to a clear value tier — budget, mid-range, or premium — so you can make a confident decision based on what you actually want to spend.
